KSP Post 2 Continues Shop with a Trooper Tradition

The Kentucky State Police Professional Association Chapter 2 recently conducted its 24th annual ‘Shop with a Trooper’ tradition that provides children with items of need during the Christmas season. Trooper Rob Austin said although SWAT looked a little different this year, they were still able to provide 19 families with pizza from Papa John’s of Madisonville, a Christmas dinner donated by Kroger of Powderly, as well as gifts to 44 children. Children were also given small dental care kits with supplies donated by Dollar General in Princeton and Dr. Marty Gamble at the Crofton Dental Center. Trooper Austin said this year participating families asked for their children’s clothing sizes and interests so troopers and other Post 2 employees could shop for their presents. The families were scheduled a time to arrive at KSP Post 2 and stayed in their vehicle, while troopers loaded the vehicles with pizza, Christmas dinners, and gifts.
