let s get specifically to sarah palin here. would you not admit that you always talk about political athletes, would you not admit she s lost a few steps since 2008? i do believe this, joe, i think she has a great constituency, maybe 35%, a majority of the country does not want to see her as president. i think she d be tough in a nomination run. come on, pat, stop being spokesman for the white house. is sarah palin less impressive today than she was in 2008 as a political candidate? as a candidate, she is not what she was in those first two weeks of 2008 but i ll say this, she is probably the most dynamic figure in national politics now, even more so than barack obama. i think these days being a dynamic figure is not a good thing. maybe not. we have news here. pat, run for it. he s sarah s endorsement. he s afraid to offend her.
that you re not getting money from foreign sources. you know, joe, this used to be called mccarthyism if you make a charge and you have nothing to back it up but you keep making it. one thing, andrea said apparently the poll in the white house said things are working. i will tell you what will work, joe, this, if democrats can make the case that these big corporations, amoral corporations are shipping jobs and factories to china and the republican party is the handmaiden of these corporations, they can split the republican party from a tea party, off from the republican party and they can make hey with it. i agree with you. these charges are false because there is nothing behind them. secondly, when you go after the chamber of commerce, there s a chamber of commerce in every town in america. i have a couple points. first of all, you know when you re a democratic president and the washington post is accusing you of zeno phobic attacks and the new york times
they are attacking the chamber. it s an unwinnable argument, for a president who is seen as anti-business, attacking the chamber is a dumb, dumb move. it is, joe. these are seen as moderate business guys in the communities, immersed in their communities. chamber of commerce seen as a very very positive force. secondly, it has hurt something invaluable to obama. that is his credibility in the sense that he is above politics in a way, as president and he doesn t deal, if you will in mundacity. there is nothing behind this to prove the chamber of commerce is funneling foreign money into campaigns. i think it s hurting credibility of the president of the united states, which ultimately is his greatest asset. how does the white house respond to being called zeno phobic by the washington post ?
there s an e-mail that s come in. i m sure it s attacking mika again. chris, why is it you only read the e-mails critical of mika and never those critical of joe, surely, some of your viewers find an almost 50-year-old a popular host of a morning show and dresses like a college freshman unacceptable. i don t look like a college freshman, do i? no. you re wearing a wonderful wonderful willover, boston red sox. it s very appropriate to the playoffs, too. i m listing to xmthe other day, driving around new york. they play dirty water. great 60s song they always play up at fenway, and then they play sweet caroline. i tweet, pull over to the side of the road and i tweet, i say, hey, there s a boston two-fer on xmright now. and then somebody tweeted back,
morning joe book party. my paperback is coming up. joe would like to have it 40 feet from his apartment building. that way, he might show up, just roll out of bed, roll out of his chair. sleepwalk. beer in his belly and his book. the rent problem. the rent was exorbitant. barnes and nobles. we can t do it. that s why the candidate was good. the rent is too damn high candidate. i loved him. you have to see the new york gubernatorial debate. the guy stole the show. i might have a new hero. the rent ties damn high. and he is right. he is so right. he is absolutely right. we have chris matthews, jim cramer and andrew coming up on the show today, a lot to get to. we start in new york with two weeks to go before the general election, new york s seven gubernatorial candidates came out last night for their first and most likely only debate.
