A non-profit group in Sudbury that supports survivors of human trafficking wants to educate students about the dangers. Angels of Hope Against Human Trafficking has created an educational program for both elementary and secondary school students called 'Empowered Kids Campaign'.
The Ontario government has announced $1.5 million in cash and proceeds seized from criminals will be spent across the province to help local partners fight back against crime.

With more than $250,000 in new funding from senior levels of government, AOH is set to really expand its impact.
The money from the federal government will be used for “addictions counselling with survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, and mental health trauma counselling. We have an Indigenous social worker who’ll be doing mental health trauma counselling.”
