The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed Tuesday 186 new deaths and 7,902 new cases of confirmed COVID-19, with 22,102 total cases in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The number of new cases and deaths reported Tuesday reflects a reporting lag from over the weekend and Monday’s holiday.
To date, Public Health has identified 1,031,874 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of L.A. County and a total of 14,122 deaths.

Public Health continues ramping up capacity to complete vaccinations for eligible priority groups identified by the CDC with more specific guidance provided by the State. This includes the launch of five new large-scale vaccination sites that began operation today and adding several more pharmacies and health care clinics. Vaccinations are currently available by appointment for those in phase 1A and county residents aged 65
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health on Monday confirmed 88 new deaths and 9,927 new cases of COVID-19 countywide, as Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia reported 7 new fatalities since Friday.
One patient died Friday, two died Saturday, and four more died Sunday, hospital spokesman Patrick Moody said Monday afternoon.
The Santa Clarita Valley has reached 21,956 total COVID-19 cases 767 more than Friday and 165 deaths since the pandemic began.

A group of approximately 75 Department of Defense medical personnel have deployed to a handful of California hospitals in two of the state’s regions hardest hit by the pandemic.
Roughly 65 U.S. Air Force doctors, nurses and other medical staff from the 60th Medical Group at Travis Air Force Base and around 10 U.S. Army nurses from a Fort Carson, Colorado-based military medical unit, have arrived and begun onboarding at four hospitals: Adventist Health Lodi Memorial in Lodi, Dameron Hospital in Stockton, Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
The deployment comes as California and the entire country is experiencing a devastating surge in COVID-19 cases. The hospitals selected are located in the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California, two regions of the state with 0% ICU bed capacity and currently under mandatory stay-at-home orders. On Tuesday, those orders were extended.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed Thursday 287 new deaths and 17,323 new cases of COVID-19, with 20,918 total cases in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Los Angeles County has tragically experienced nearly 2,000 COVID-19 deaths in just a week, and marked another grim milestone of recording more than 13,000 total COVID-19 deaths.
To date, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health identified 975,299 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of L.A. County and a total of 13,234 deaths. Last Thursday, Jan. 7, Public Health reported a total 11,545 COVID-19 deaths.
Of the 287 new deaths reported Thursday, 115 people who passed away were over the age of 80, 95 people who died were between the ages of 65 and 79, 47 people who died were between the ages of 50 and 64 and 13 people who died were between the ages of 30 and 49. Fifteen deaths were reported by the city of Long Beach and two deaths were reported by the city of Pasadena.
L.A. County Public Health on Wednesday confirmed 14,564 new cases and 281 new deaths due to COVID-19, as Henry Mayo reported two more COVID fatalities.
