Columbus restaurants: Customers remember shuttered M at Miranova

Now it has only one.  Cameron Mitchell Restaurants confirmed on Tuesday that M, one of the city s most celebrated restaurants, will not reopen. The news came as a shock to those who worked or dined there. The day that the governor shut us down, we all cried our eyes out, said Cris Dehlavi, the head bartender until the restaurant closed in March. But we only thought it would be for a couple weeks. It s heartbreaking to know that that restaurant is not going to reopen. The upscale restaurant in the swanky Miranova Place tower was one of more than a dozen central Ohio restaurants Cameron Mitchell closed at the onset of the pandemic with the understanding that they would reopen once conditions improved.

One of the best bartenders in the city, Dehlavi worked at M from September 2002 until last spring when the COVID-19 outbreak changed everything. Since shutting down last March because of Ohio’s mandatory dine-in ban, M is one of the lone Cameron Mitchell restaurants that has yet to reopen–even for carryout.
