A woman has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her father who had served jail time for a brutal assault in the NSW Hunter region last night.

Police were called to a home in Tenambit, in Maitland, around 7.20pm and discovered a man suffering two stab wounds to his upper torso.

Police charge man with drug offences – Oxley Police District
A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the state’s north-west.
In April 2020, officers from Oxley Police District’s Proactive Crime Team (PCT), established Strike Force Catkin to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Werris Creek and Tamworth area.
About 9.20am today (Thursday 7 January 2021), strike force officers arrested a 31-year-old man at a home on Henry Street, Werris Creek.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply cannabis, deal with property proceeds of crime and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Larry Johnson, Crime Manager for Cherwell and West Oxfordshire, said: “This is a concerning incident and as a result we are carrying out a thorough investigation following a number of lines of enquiry, and the premises and scene are being searched by special trained officers and our CSI teams. “We are keeping an open mind as to the reasons behind this incident, but at this time we do not believe there was a wider danger to the public. “Our patrols we will be stepped up in the area and members of the public will see an increased police presence whilst we conduct our enquiries.
