president is bouncing back. hard the tell. he s had a little pick up in his step. what do you make of it? yeah, thanks for having me. yeah, you described this move as a pivot. it is. you know, the american people are getting whiplash from this president. as ted williams said, joe biden didn t ever support the defund the police movement, but the democrats, that message has been dominant in the democratic narrative for two years since the murder of george employed. on top of that, democrats including joe biden has been gas lighting the american people saying this crime wave is not really happening. they said the same thing about inflation. they ve been telling us that crime increase is not a real thing. now joe biden realizes that that is not a helpful political message that deals with the reality of rising crime that would be more appropriate and valuable for him. there s some signs that the
point. i also think unfortunately, gun issues there ever gonna go away, i think there s gonna be more mass shootings, there s certainly gonna be more crime in our streets of our cities, and even now you see crime increase in the rural areas of this country. this will continue to grow. it does go back to how we end up in the situation, we ended up in this situation because we re stuck with this old acronyms jack rule, that basically discourages compromise. if we didn t have the filibuster, we actually see a very, very bold and compromising, compromise bill when it comes to gun safety legislation. that s where we are right now. so, kudos to the best he could. that s a very hard thing, i hope there s good things that come out of. this at the end of the day, we re dealing with the situation because we decided to constrain ourselves, not because of the actual dynamics of the politics, gun reform right now is extremely popular in the country.
