file photo A police operation has led to the recovery of multiple firearms including an AR15 semi-automatic assault rifle and several rounds of ammunition. According to the Police Press Officer Ann Joseph, police officers were engaged in an operation on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, on Martin Luther King Street in Vieux Fort, during which time officers discovered five firearms and a wide range of ammunition were recovered at a residence. “The firearms recovered included an AR15 Rifle and four pistols (three 9mm and one .40mm) and approximately 110 rounds of ammunition, of varying calibre,” Joseph said. Including in the find were several black ski masks, two bulletproof vests, as well as a quantity of controlled drugs, which were confiscated.
