Sale of firearms and ammo and outlawed possession of handguns by all city residents. The law was struck down by the courts under a challenge by the nra. Then this week the board of supervisors passed mark farrells legislation that would require videotaping of all gun sales and the weekly reporting of ammo sales to the Police Department. Now, gun buyers here already have to fill out a detailed form, go through a background check and waiting period. But having a videotape of the purchase sending it to local police is one regulation too many according to the owner. What we dont do is voluntarily give private information to the Police Department voluntarily. We just dont do that. The people are very private about their information. The goal here is not to run anybody out of business but for from my perspective the Public Safety of San Francisco residents comes first. Two ago when i was here, does anybody remember that we used to talk about ending the fed . [ chanting ] okay. How about its time to bring our troops home . Hey and its time to not load up our prison with nonviolent criminals associated with our drug war. Lets eliminate the war on drugs by the federal government. Even if you live in a perfectly free society, the conduct of the citizens make all the difference in the world. And so the code of conduct actually started even before probably 300, 400 years before moses gave us brought down the Ten Commandments and no lying, no cheating, no stealing and no killing.
