Francisco. Jeff wright was a colleague and friend. Its a really big loss, but my heart is so full. Reporter its unclear how philips contracted meningitis. Wright says his wife shared he was being treated for flulike symptoms. Marin health and Human Services was notified tuesday. Philips autopsy revealed he had meningitis. Most of the time its an isolated incident like this. Our goal tois to make sure this remains at one case. Reporter health and Human Services sent letters like this one to approximately 250 people that may have had close contact with philips. You hear meningitis and youre like, uhoh. So everybody googles it to see if something possibly could be spread to you. Reporter in an emailed statement a spokesperson says we are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our riders. While the rider did not contract our infection at our studio, we have nonetheless been in constant communication with the department of health.
