The Creve Coeur Creates Committee, a Creve Coeur-based community engagement group, has begun outreach to seniors through its new Holiday Helpers for Seniors program.
According to Kimberly Peak, Creve Coeur Village Clerk and Creve Coeur Creates Committee member, the group, with the support of the Creve Coeur Village Board, will distribute care packages to needy seniors age 55 or older from 9 to 10 a.m. Dec. 24. The packages will include such items as blankets, hats, lotions, masks, hand sanitizer, and snacks.
“We want to reach any senior who is alone or is having financial hardship, especially this year,” said Peak. “With everyone having to stay in more and not having as much contact with the outside, it can really be a hard time. It’s a hard time anyway. We think it’s really important to reach as many as we can.”
