Both a Crestwood resident and the city’s fire department were honored with awards recently at the Nov. 28 Crestwood Board of Aldermen meeting: a Life Saving Award and a Greater.
It’s official The city of Crestwood has a new fire chief. The Crestwood Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a resolution at its Jan. 24 meeting to name Leo Meyer fire chief of the Crestwood Fire Department. He will take over the position from former Chief Lou Hecht, who retired. Hecht’s last month with Crestwood.
Crestwood is hosting a town hall Tuesday to give residents the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the quarter-cent sales tax increase, Proposition 1, that will appear on the April 5 ballot. The town hall is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at Crestwood City Hall, 1 Detjen Way. Prop 1 is set.
The Crestwood Board of Aldermen unanimously voted Dec. 14 to introduce a quarter-cent sales tax increase in the April 5 election to increase revenue for the city’s fire department. The ballot measure, “Proposition 1,” would increase the city’s sales tax from one-quarter of 1 percent, or .25 percent, to one-half of 1 percent, or .5.
