Onondaga Bald Eagle Watch: Still lots of birds around the lake, but the large numbers won’t last

The chances of seeing bald eagles on Onondaga Lake continues to be great going into this weekend, but the numbers of birds that can be easily spotted will likely be trending downward in weeks to come, according to a local Audubon chapter official.
Wednesday, volunteers from the Onondaga Audubon chapter counted 39 birds on the lake’s shores – most, if not all, at the lake’s southern end where there’s open water.
