SA trail running legends Christiaan Greyling and AJ Calitz have broken the world record for the greatest vertical distance on foot on Table Mountainâs Platteklip Gorge.
The rivals-turned-teammates have managed to beat the Guinness World Records for the greatest vertical distance on foot in just 20 hours on Table Mountainâs Platteklip Gorge.
The previous record was held by a team on a mountain in Ireland, with a distance of 18,086 metres, which is equivalent to 13 ascents and descents.
The previous record-holders had a full 24 hours to complete their laps but Greyling and Calitz had to set the record in less than 20 hours due to the time restrictions created by South Africa s curfew.
