THE sixth year students of Creagh College attended their graduation ball on Thursday. They all looked amazinf and arrived in style, one couple even turning up in a truck.

Top marks for north Wexford school in Computer Science

Creagh College in Gorey has received a glowing inspection report in the subject provision of Computer Science from the Department of Education.

Wexford students rewarded for academic excellence

Students from across County Wexford have been recognised for their academic excellence with academic scholarships to Dublin City University. The scholarships, worth €500 each, were rewarded to the students in recognition of them receiving 550 points or more in their leaving certificate exams. The students were among 307 young people from across Ireland to whom €153,500 worth of scholarships was presented. While a traditional presentation ceremony could not take place due to current restrictions, school principals will be presented with a plaque to display in their school to mark the significant achievement of their pupils. Scholarships are awarded to students who not only gain the required number of points but also meet the specific entry requirements and register to study with any of DCU s five faculties: Engineering & Computing; Humanities & Social Sciences; Science & Health; DCU Business School and the Institute of Education DCU.

Warrior Bethany reclaims her life back

Bethany Willoughy (Maguire) is looking forward to moving on with her life knowing that her half-brother Bernard will serve time for the crimes he committed against her when they were children. The 20-year-old said that she waived her right to anonymity so that her abuser could be named publicly, so she could speak out about what happened to her between 2006 and 2008, and to prevent the same thing from happening to somebody else in the future. Bethany explained that her parents split up when she was a child and that Bernard lived with their father while she stayed nearby in Gorey with her mum, Mandy.

Orders are rolling in for Andrew s wooden products

Crafty Andrew Hennessy (14) from Camolin has been getting innovative during the level 5 restrictions, working on wooden creations alongside his father Chris. The third year Creagh College student has set up an online shop, has a social media presence, and was even featured on RTE s News2Day programme. He admits that the orders have been rolling in from far and wide, including an order all the way from the USA last week. The young man has been making bespoke wooden products from responsibly sourced birch plywood, including face-mask holders, note-boards, key holders and signs, designing the pieces using the computer at his dad s home workshop.
