Another annual Crawford County event has fallen victim to COVID-19 as organizers of the Winter Blues Bluegrass Festival announced its cancellation this week.
Dani Schmidt, marketing specialist for Hospice of Crawford County, reached out to the Tribune on Monday to announce the event would be canceled. The hospice co-hosts the festival, which was scheduled to take place on Jan. 29 through Jan. 31 in 2021.
According to Schmidt, the rising case numbers and increasing spread of COVID-19 in Crawford County put the final nail in the proverbial coffin for the festival this year.
âWe were leaning that way anyways, but we were somewhat hopeful in October that things would be as bad as they are now,â she said.
