New Bern man charged with meth, heroin possession
Deputies with the Craven County Sheriff s Office arrested a New Bern man on Saturday after they obtained a search warrant due to multiple citizen complaints.
The search warrant was listed for 120 Oakley Drive, just off of Old Cherry Point Road in James City.
Deputies along with the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigative Bureau and a Sheriff’s Office K-9 Deputy were searching the house when K-9 Nibbles alerted them to the presence of drugs in the home. Continuing the search, deputies recovered heroin, methamphetamine, illegal prescription medications and drug paraphernalia, according to a news release.
An already convicted felon found himself in further trouble with law enforcement when investigators between two different agencies went to search a home in Vanceboro.
On Thursday, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau along with the North Carolina Department of Probation & Parole joined forces to perform a probation search at a home on B&R Drive in Vanceboro, according to a news release from the CCSO.
During the search, investigators found trafficking amounts of heroin, trafficking amounts of methamphetamine, a large quantity of cocaine, marijuana and a firearm.
As a result, Jeffrey Maurice Edwards, 34, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking heroin, felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent manufacture sell/deliver heroin, possession with intent manufacture sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession firearm by convicted felon, possession of marijuan

With the community s help, two men from New Bern, one who is currently in jail for murder, have been charged with armed robbery from an incident back in December.
Officers with the New Bern Police Department say they were able to identify Rayshawn Vredenburg, 19, and Nehemiah Peele, 18, as their suspects in a robbery that took place at 600 Jimmies Creek Drive on Dec. 9. according to a news release from the department.
Vredenburg is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
