c caltrans says she is out of luck. a mom managed to avoid crashing into a crowbar. should she be forced to pay for it? the costly collision. reporter: this east bay mom got the scare of her life on the bay bridge when that crowbar hit her car. she figured caltrans would pay for it. she is wrong. nikki doyle saw this crowbar fall from the upper deck of the bay bridge and slam into her car driving with her drawer, wedging into the grille of her minicooper. if it hit a second later we would have been dead. it would have hit my daughter or me because i was driving. reporter: the near miss caused $1,400 in damage. doyle contacted her insurance company. caltrans sent her a questionnaire she returned. they have been completely uncooperative. reporter: in august they denied her claim blaming a construction company. mcm construction company says it wasn t working on the bridge that night. it is the sect time caltrans has denied responsibility. the first was in january w
