According to data from the province's respiratory virus dashboard, 15,215 cases of lab-confirmed influenza cases were recorded this respiratory virus season.
Alberta’s flu season has yet to end, but it’s already ranking as the deadliest in recent memory since the mid-1990s when reliable stats were first tracked.
Alberta is on track for what could be its lowest influenza vaccination rate in at least a decade. Less than one-quarter of Albertans 24.1 per cent have received their annual flu shot so far this respiratory virus season, according to provincial data.
