SARATOGA COUNTY Saratoga County Republicans have announced that four incumbent office-holders will be running for countywide offices this fall.
Sheriff Michael Zurlo, County Clerk Craig Hayner, Surrogate Court Judge Richard Kupferman and Coroner Susan Hayes-Masa jointly announced their plans Friday at an event in Saratoga Springs. The Republican Party has a large enrollment advantage over Democrats countywide, and they may not face any opposition.
Michael Zurlo, 67, a Saratoga County native, was first elected sheriff in 2013. He will be seeking his third four-year term. Previously, he served 31 years as a member of the Sheriff’s Department, holding positions including senior investigator, patrol deputy, criminal investigator, sergeant, and lieutenant.
