Hawaii is on its way to banning more reef-damaging sunscreens. The state Senate approved Senate Bill 132, which would ban all sunscreens containing the chemicals avobenzone or octocrylene. If approved, it would build on a 2018 law that banned sunscreens containing the chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate, which went into effect this January.
