The Michigan Department of Natural Resource confirms that a conservation officer on patrol in Midland County s Jerome Township found Carmoney and another person in a vehicle on Sept. 13.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer held a press conference Tuesday afternoon to update the state on the fight against COVID-19. With the state’s numbers improving across the board, Governor Whitmer wants to get kids back in schools.
From the beginning of the pandemic, Gov. Whitmer said she will use science and data to make her decisions.
The science and data is saying that it is safe for students to be back in classrooms for in-person learning. It also says that students are falling behind when they don’t have that in-person learning. That’s why Whitmer wants all school districts to at least offer that option by March 1 but not everybody is agreeing.

LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â Wednesday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer provided an update on COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the state, along with discussions on a return to in-person learning for public schools.
Among other figures, she was joined by Craig Carmoney, superintendent of the year and Superintendent of Meridian Public Schools in Midland County who was recently appointed to Governor Whitmerâs Student Recovery Advisory Council.
The governor talked about the importance of in-person learning and how the state is committed to keeping Michigan safely moving forward.
On Jan. 8, Gretchen Whitmer asked school districts to reopen in-person learning by Mar. 1. Most schools are already doing so and more are expected to meet Whitmer’s guidance.
