More than 143,000 used Cancun, Playa del Carmen ferry services over one-week holiday period

Riviera Maya, Q.R. More than 143,000 travelers used the region’s ferry services over the recent one-week holiday period. The Comprehensive Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo) reported the significant movement of passengers along the Cozumel-Playa del Carmen and Puerto Juárez-Isla Mujeres routes during that week.
They say the high figures were due to both winter vacations and the mark of the holidays, including the arrival of the New Year.
Apiqroo detailed that from December 28, 2020 to January 3 (2021), 55,539 passengers traveled the Cozumel-Playa del Carmen route, while in Puerto Juárez-Isla Mujeres, 87,682 travelers were counted.
