PANAMA CITY Graduation rates in Bay District School are in danger of falling this year as some students have struggled to learn amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
High school administrators are concerned because some schools have at least half of their honors students getting D s and F s this year. With pandemic restrictions in the classroom, combined with distance learning causing problems for some students, officials are worried some seniors won t pull up their grades enough this semester to graduate on time.
As concern has mounted, Superintendent Bill Husfelt decided to visit high schools in the county this past week to motivate seniors in the final months before graduation.
