The first stage of the work around the Town Dam and Cowdenknowes Reservoir is already under way. As well as cutting back trees, the project also involves upgrading paths, providing extra benches and bins. Councillor Tommy McVey, who secured £25,000 from the council budget for it, said: It s a wee gem in this area and this extra money will make a difference. I am delighted the the environmental improvement works have started. The first stage involved surveying the trees around the dams. Based on the professional advice of the arborist, some essential works were required and that has now been completed.
