CANYONVILLE, Ore. – An hours-long standoff in Canyonville ended with an arrest Monday night.
At about noon on June 28, a woman called 911 reporting she had been assaulted by Robert Brown, 27, of Canyonville. She said Brown pointed a gun at her, and she managed to escape with her children.
Deputies arrived on scene and used a reverse 911 to notify residents in the area.
Brown reportedly refused to exit the apartment, and members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Negotiations Team stepped in to speak with Brown but were not successful, deputies say. That’s when the tactical response team was dispatched.
