As the third day of the COVID vaccine drive begins, there were a few glitches reported in the CoWIN app which disrupted the process in many states. In Karnataka, the vaccination drive that was conducted in 63 vaccine session sites also experienced some technical issues in many centres which have affected the overall procedure of the inoculation in the state. Many beneficiaries names were not found on the app and now it is reported that the drive is being conducted manually until the problem is resolved. Mumbai:
The first batch of 1.39 lakh doses of the Covishield, the Serum Institute of India s coronavirus vaccine, arrived in Mumbai early this morning from Pune.
The consignment will be delivered across the city at designated vaccination centers for the inoculation drive set to begin on Saturday, Mumbai s civic body BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) said in a statement.
The civic body said that the consignment containing 1,39,500 doses of the vaccine was brought from the Serum Institute of India s Pune factory under the security of two police vehicles around 5.30 am. A puja was performed, along with the traditional breaking of coconuts, once the vehicle reached the storage facility in Panvel.
The Covishield vaccine is being produced in India by the Serum Institute of India at their facility in Pune. For the vaccination drive on January 16, 476 boxes of Covishield vaccine are being supplied out of the Pune Aiport to 13 cities today
