Bharat Biotech dispatches Covaxin to 11 cities; donates 16.5 lakh vaccine doses to Centre
The Bharat Biotech, which has donated 16.5 lakh doses of Covaxin to the Government of India (GoI), announced a successful air-shipment of the Covid vaccine to 11 cities in the early hours of Wednesday.

Officials in Uttar Pradesh s Ayodhya have registered names of dead people for the coronavirus vaccination drive. The Health Department of Ayodhya s Dufferin hospital prepared a list of health workers that will get vaccines in the first phase of the inoculation. However, it was found that most registered healthcare workers, especially nurses were either dead, retired or had resigned.

Assam received the second consignment of Covid vaccine on Wednesday. The second consignment of 36,000 doses of the vaccine from Bharat Biotech arrived at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Borjhar in Guwahati, on Wednesday morning.

Jonathan Van-Tam explained that winter flu vaccines are changed every year to match the type of virus circulating at the time. He compared this to new coronavirus strains which have emerged in recent months as he said it is likely the vaccine for the disease may need to be updated. Speaking to LBC, Professor Van-Tam said: I can t say whether the vaccine will be needed every year yet.
