Chandigarh: Amid a surge in cases, the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination is set to commence from March 1 across Punjab and across the country.
The vaccine will be administered to senior citizens above 60 years of age and citizens aged 45 to 59 suffering from co-morbidities as specified by the government. Regarding the co-morbidity, a certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner is needed.
In this phase of vaccination, Punjab will be targeting to vaccinate at least 25-30 lakh eligible beneficiaries. According to the Central government, the vaccines are being administered free of cost at government hospitals and health centres, while Rs 250 will be charged at private health facilities.
