The Maharashtra government had earlier announced that if occupancy of oxygen beds in the state goes above 35,000, the ‘oxygen trigger’ will be activated and Level 1 and 2 relaxations on Covid curbs will cease to exist across the state irrespective of local parameters.
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 11 (ANI): The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta, in regard to the Covid-19 unlock process from June 14, instructed the chief engineers to ensure that the construction works in the city do not interrupt traffic.
According to the company, the phase-4 trials will not just help check the real-world effectiveness but also ensure that “its vaccine met every rigorous scientific standard for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization (EUA)”.
“It is important to note, the inoculation which began in mid-January and with several million doses administered, will have credible and sizable data soon,” it said.
Gujarat extends night curfew
Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday chaired a core committee meeting wherein it was decided to roll out fresh Covid-19 curbs in the state. To prevent the spread of the virus, a night curfew will be in place till June 26.
States, UTs begin unlocking
Several states including Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have begun the process of Covid Unlock, i.e., the re-opening of institutions and services (restaurants, malls, gyms etc.) that were temporarily closed because of coronavirus.
India has, as of June 5th, administered 24 crore doses in total. This includes both first and second doses, the fully vaccinated populace is much lower. Vaccine shortages are being reported throughout the country, despite exports of Russia’s Sputnik IV vaccine and the Indian vaccine manufacturers Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute stretching themselves to the breaking point to meet the vaccine demand.
