Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Saturday that India does not agree with the World Health Organisation's (WHO) estimate of Covid-19 mortalities in the country.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently said that the full death toll associated directly or indirectly with the Covid-19 pandemic between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021 was approximately 14.9 million. This was about 9.49 million more deaths than those reported globally.
After Covid cases continued to rise outside quarantined areas across Shanghai, authorities said on Thursday that tough restrictions will remain in place for now.
