NHS England figures show the death toll at the trust s hospitals now stands at 587. Meanwhile, 67 new, positive cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the county yesterday (Tuesday) - taking the total since the start of the pandemic, in March, to 15,088 according to Public Health England data. It comes just days after hundreds of revellers flocked to Ebchester for a planned Covid Rave on Saturday - which was later shut down by police. Assistant chief constable Neil Hutchinson, of Northumbria Police, has described the unlicensed event as wholly irresponsible and incredibly dangerous. He said: This event was widely marketed, flyers were distributed and tickets were sold to hundreds of people.

Class A drugs and canisters of nitrous oxide were seized at an illegal rave, police have revealed.
Five men were arrested at a derelict building in Northumberland, near Consett and the border with County Durham, on Saturday evening.
Hundreds of tickets had been sold for the event, advertised as the Covid Rave on flyers.
Northumbria police and crime commissioner Kim McGuinness said this sort of event was really dangerous . I actually believe at this stage the message is loud and clear, she said. There are a small number of reasons why you can go out at the moment and I think it s very, very clear attending a rave isn t one of them.
