Punjab Covid Death Latest News: The first Covid-19 death in Punjab after a span of nearly eight months has been reported, as a 60-year-old woman from Sherpur village in Hoshiarpur succumbed to the virus in a private hospital in Jalandhar. The woman, who also had diabetes, had sought medical attention due to a high fever and difficulty breathing.
Punjab Coronavirus Updates: With a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Punjab government has appealed for the use of masks as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus. The Health Department, in an advisory issued on Friday, appealed to the public to prioritize mask-wearing and avoid crowded places.
The number of active coronavirus cases in Punjab increased to 34,303 from 30,384 on Thursday (January 13). The state's positivity rate stands at 21.19 per cent, up from 17.02 per cent the previous day, the bulletin said.
