13 KL Oxygen plant set up at Kozhikode Medical College

Kozhikode, May 10 (IANS) As Covid-19 cases rise drastically, a 13 KL oxygen plant was set up at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
This is to accommodate the increase in the number of Covid patients who require oxygen support.
The 13KL plant from the PK Steel Complex was re-located to the Medical College compound. This was following the order of the District Collector under the Disaster Management Act.
The re-location was done by Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS).

Synopsis
Kerala has a daily production of 219 tonnes of oxygen and is maintaining a buffer stock of 450 tonnes of oxygen without any pressure on the national grid. But in view of the demand from other states, our buffer stock was sent to those places to help Covid patients as and when required.

The CM told the media that the Centre has sanctioned three more oxygen plants for Kerala.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting additional liquid medical oxygen (LMO) for the state in view of the rising demand in the state, and also sought oxygen express trains to Kerala.
