South Africa has
recorded 1 006 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the cumulative number of COVID-19
cases for the country to 1 529 420.

In his latest report
released on Sunday evening, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, says there have
also been 65 new coronavirus related deaths.
“Regrettably, we
report a further 65 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 1, Free State
27, Gauteng 12, Kwa-Zulu Natal 20, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0,
Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 5.
“We convey our
condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers
who treated the deceased,” says Mkhize.

The country’s new
COVID-19 cases fell short of the 1000 mark, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said
in his latest report.

The cumulative
number of cases now sits at 1 522 697, more than 27 000 of which are
active.
Mkhize added the
number of fatalities in the remaining provinces had increased the death toll to
50 906.
“Regrettably, a
further 103 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 2,
Free State 28, Gauteng 28, Kwa-Zulu Natal 24, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 6, North
West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 15, which brings the total to 50 906
deaths.”
