LONG ISLAND (WABC) The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach will kick off summer once again!
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced plans for the air show to return this year after being grounded by COVID-19 in 2020.
The Memorial Day weekend tradition celebrates the beginning of summer at Long Island s beaches and honors military families and those who serve our country.
The outdoor show, sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, features a range of military and civilian aerial performers.

This year s show will be a ticketed event, with reduced capacity and social distancing measures in place to ensure a safe return of the patriotic Long Island beachfront tradition.
NEW YORK (WABC) Weddings and catered events are scheduled to resume on Monday with a number of restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Venues are restricted to 50% capacity, with no more than 150 people per event and must notify local health departments of large events, above the social gathering limit, in advance.
The social gathering limit was recently increased to up to 100 people indoors or 200 people outdoors.
All patrons must be tested prior to the event, must sign-in with contact information required to assist with potential contact tracing, and must wear masks at all times except when seated and eating or drinking.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday that New York will be preparing to make all adults eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by May 1, but the task "is a logistical undertaking, unlike anything we have done before."
NEW YORK (WABC) Mayor Bill de Blasio is blasting the state s decision to end the mandatory quarantine for domestic travelers entering New York starting April 1st.
While no longer required, the NYS Department of Health still recommends quarantine after domestic travel as an added precaution.
Mandatory quarantine remains in effect for international travelers. All travelers must continue to fill out the Traveler Health Form. Individuals should continue strict adherence to all safety guidelines to stop the spread - wearing masks, socially distancing, and avoiding gatherings. This is great news, but it is not an all-clear for New Yorkers to let their guard down. To beat this virus once and for all we all must continue doing what we know works to stop the spread, including wearing masks, washing our hands, and practicing social distancing, Governor Cuomo said on Thursday.
