Imphal: A 48-year-old anganwadi worker in Manipur has died a week after receiving her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, officials said on Saturday.
W. Sundari Devi of Kumbi Terakha area in Bishunpur district had received her first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on February 12 at Kumbhi primary health centre, they said.

MUMBAI: Not only will the state authorities start administering the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from Monday, private hospitals in Mumbai will also be allowed to vaccinate their staff in the coming week.
According to a notification issued by the public health department of the state government on Saturday, when 31,976 healthcare and frontline workers were administered the vaccine shots, those healthcare workers who have received their first dose of the vaccine and have completed a four-week period from that point of time can now take the second dose in accordance with the standard guidelines laid down by Union health ministry.

EUA was filed earlier this month in the country and is the first international regulatory filing for Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN. Once approved by the local regulator, India is expected to donate some doses and also open the door for exports in commercial terms, as is being done currently by Western and Chinese vaccine manufacturers.
