Delhi CM said that the unlock may begin after May 31.
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (May 23, 2021) extended the lockdown in the national capital for one more week and said that the unlock may begin after May 31. If COVID-19 cases continue to decrease, we will begin to unlock Delhi in a phased manner from May 31, Kejriwal stated.

As of Saturday morning (May 22), a total of 19.73 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the country.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in Chhattisgarh, intense transmission has been observed since March 2021. The state was observing a near positivity rate of 30% at the start of May. In Himachal Pradesh, there are more than 35,000 active cases, while the fatality rate (1.44%) is much higher than the national average.
Harsh Vardhan underlined the issues like complacency, marriages, super spreader events etc, for the steep rise in cases in Himachal Pradesh. He informed that Goa is witnessing a rising trend with 22,000 active cases. Daman and Diu has 366 active cases and a declining trend is being observed. Similarly, Ladakh is also showing a declining trend with 1,500 active cases at present.

New Delhi: The first batch of 10,000 doses of the 2-DG drug for treating COVID-19 patients would be launched early next week, informed Defence Research and Development Organisation officials on Friday (May 14, 2021).
The official informed, The first batch of 10,000 doses of 2-DG medicine for the treatment of COVID-19 infected patients would be launched early next week and will be given to patients. The drug manufacturers are working on ramping up the production of the medicine for future use. The drug has been developed by a team of DRDO scientists including Dr Anant Narayan Bhatt , informed DRDO officials.

New Delhi: The Delhi international airport is going to shut operations at its T2 terminal due to the fall in passenger traffic amid the second wave of COVID-19 in the country, the PTI news agency reported on Tuesday (May 11, 2021). From May 17 midnight, all flights will be handled at the T3 terminal only, PTI quoted Delhi Airport as saying.
They stated that currently, the Delhi airport is handling around 325 flights per day and before the pandemic, it used to handle over 1,500 flights daily.
During the last few weeks, the number of domestic air passengers per day has come down from more than 2.2 lakh to around 70,000, according to the Civil Aviation Ministry s data.

Earlier on Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba chaired a meeting with the States and UTs to review the COVID-19 situation in the country. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of all States/UTs.
