The number of new COVID-19 cases reported in the state is going down as more people are getting vaccinated.
The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,816 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, the third time in four days the number fell below 2,000.
It was 1,809 Sunday, 1,915 Monday and 2,026 Tuesday.
Since Oct. 19, the state has had four days with new COVID-19 cases under 2,000 and three of them are this week. The other was Feb. 8 with 1,926.
At 7,566 cases during the first four days of the week, the daily average so far is 1,891.5. If that average holds for the remaining three days, Ohio will have the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases reported in a week in more than four months. The week of Oct. 11 had 12,767 reported COVID-19 cases.
