The latest data represents a total of 37,799 “active” cases statewide over two weeks, far surpassing the delta peak of 11,500. Maui County’s seven day average of cases is now 149.0 cases per 100,000, surpassing the delta peak of 57.6 per 100,000 reported on Aug. 25, but below the 412.1 reported on Jan. 21, 2022.
In Maui County, the seven day average for new daily cases dropped to 252. As of 9 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2022, the latest data available, there are 54 people hospitalized in Maui County with COVID-19.
There are now 51 people hospitalized in Maui County with COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2022, marking a new record high since the start of the pandemic.
The state Department of Health is reporting a COVID-19 count of 2,380 new cases today, including 337 on Maui. There are also 10 new COVID-19 deaths reported today.
