If you’ve been to the North Shore, you likely have been to Shark’s Cove. Maybe you got a poke bowl at Shark’s Cove Grill, then walked across the Kam to eat it at the waters’ edge. It’s an interesting part of the Seven Mile Miracle, full of little fish, rock formations, and snorkeling tourists. On small days, anyway. On big days, it’s not a place that most people would dare to hang out. Huge waves break outside of it, roaring over those rock formations into the cove. Jamie O’Brien, as you likely know, is not most people. He is a person who would dare hang out in Shark’s Cove on a big day. And while the wave they surf isn’t all that dangerous, the situation sure could be.
