Steve Cohen, the hedge fund billionaire from Greenwich and new owner of the New York Mets, couldn’t do much better than to name Stamford’s Bobby Valentine as the team’s general manager. Cohen, a friend of Valentine, knows about Valentine’s baseball background and his intelligence, and how he guided the Mets to the 2000 World Series. Valentine would be an excellent choice if he would be willing to give up his job as athletic director at Sacred Heart University.
