Sheriff mike taylor tells me they will find the person responsible. And they are nearing a suspect tonight. Take a look behind me. Law enforcement has the enterance to the school blocked off. Its been like this since last night. We have Pittsylvania County sheriffs deputies. The guys in green are with the sheriffs swat team. Then behind them we have state police. This threat has been the buzz of the town out here today. There were a few people earlier on who just drove up. Just to see what was going on. Whitney tonight were hearing from two lynchburg teens who found themselves stuck on a ski lift along with close to one others in a skiing competition in West Virginia. It happened yesterday morning at the timberline resort. The incident left at least nine people injured and two hospitalized. How big that tornado was that touched down in appomattox county. This is the damage it left behind late yesterday afternoon. The National Weather service says the deadly twister had peak wind speeds with an ef 3 intensity thats between 136 and 165 miles per hour. They believe it touched down on berry lane and took a 13 mile track northeast. And it was about a quarter of a mile wide. This is only the third tornado to touch down in appomattox county since they started keeping track in 1950. 3 danner we have Live Team Coverage from appomattox.
