Food pantries in Spartanburg continue to meet high demand during pandemic
Without help from local food pantries, Courtney McAtee of Spartanburg doesn t know how she would feed her family.
McAtee never needed help from food pantries prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she lost her job in August. It has been a struggle trying to pay her bills, buy groceries and keep a roof over her family s head without a job. Basically, it s the difference between eating and not eating and feeding your kids or not sometimes, McAtee said. During COVID, we lost all of our jobs and are barely hanging onto our place through Christmas. It s been devastating.
