A local Special Olympic athlete has become the third from the city to win a prestigious provincial award.
At the recent local Special Olympics windup party, Barbie Conway was presented the ‘Special Olympic B.C Spirit of Sport’ award. This award is handed annually to one athlete in B.C. who exemplifies the true meaning of sportsmanship. The award was presented to her by Thom Ross (outgoing local coordinator for SOBC Prince George) and this is what he said about Barbie:
