“The Masque of Youth” is a 1918 mural by Chicago artist Jessie Arms Botke, located in the third-floor theater of Ida Noyes Hall. It depicts a ritual performance a “masque” common in 17th-century Europe in praise of a court or aristocrat. Botke was inspired by a ceremony performed two years earlier by 300 members of the University.
