The Copper Canyon Fire, which has burned more than 2,875 acres near Globe, reached 51% containment Monday evening.
It no longer poses a threat, according to Tiffany Davila, spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
After a flare-up, due to the burning of a patch of land on the inside of the fire s perimeter, things settled down, Davila explained. At this point, everything s been quiet, she said. Crews are just working to clean up (the) fire edge, and secure perimeter and areas.
