DeLeon was at the beginning of her pregnancy when doctors broke the news to her: DeLeon s son would be born with a cleft lip and palate. The news brought her instantly to tears. I didn’t know what it meant exactly. But, hearing anything could be wrong with your child is both heartbreaking and horrifying, DeLeon told MySA. I started wondering what I did or didn’t do, to cause this. I had to mourn the idea of having a perfectly’ healthy baby.
