Jeanne Mack, the grandmother of Skylar Mack, an 18-year-old student at Mercer University, told NBC’s Today show on Monday that the family is pleading for her release. The elder Mack said she even wrote a letter to President Trump asking her for help with the situation. “She cries, she wants to come home,” Jeanne Mack said. “She knows she made a mistake. She owns up to that, but she s pretty hysterical right now.”
