WILMINGTON â An Oxford man will spend up to 14 years in a federal prison after pleading guilty to federal drug and firearms charges.
Jaleel Duncan, 29, received his sentence on Monday from U.S. District Court Judge Richard Myers II. He pleaded guilty in February to possessing heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, crack and marijuana with the intent to distribute, and to possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Federal prosecutors say Duncan was the passenger in a car stopped by state Alcohol Law Enforcement agents in Oxford. He got out of the car and ran, carrying a bag. An ALE agent chased him, and saw Duncan throw several things from the bag before finally throwing the bag itself over a fence.
